Imperial Glass: #159 Amber "Atterbury" Lion Covered Dish/Candy Box, 7 " TALL

 
Golden amber covered glass dish featuring a majestic lion on the lid, inspired by a late 1800s Atterbury Glass design. The lion motif is frosted glass, contrasting with the clear glass upper portion of the dish and lid rim. This footed, oval dish is adorned with an open lace edge in the dancing sailor pattern. It retains its original sticker and bears the embossed Imperial Glass maker's mark, crafted from an original Atterbury Glass mould. The inside of the lid is marked "Pat Aug -6 1889," and the original sticker identifies it as "Imperial 159 Box Cover Amber Glo." Dimensions are 7"H x 7"W.
